Britton Wells

Founder & Managing Principal
As the Founder and Managing Principal of WEC, Britton will oversee the day-to-day operations of the firm including firm wide strategy, acquisitions, dispositions, asset management, financing, investor relations and capital markets relationships.
Real Estate Investment Expert
Britton is a seasoned investment professional with 14 years of experience in all facets of commercial real estate with a focus on acquisitions having closed over $4.15 billion in real estate transactions across the country on behalf of institutions and private equity firms . During his career, Britton has specialized in large and complex transactions involving unique and nuanced business plans and structures.
Past Experience
Prior to founding Wind’s Eye Capital, Britton was the Managing Director at Entrada Partners where he oversaw acquisitions efforts for the firm. Before resigning from Entrada in 2024, Britton facilitated the best year in the company’s history, increasing Assets Under Management (“AUM”) by 30% in an eleven-month span and leading the largest and most complicated acquisition in Entrada’s history. Prior to joining Entrada, Britton ran the Dallas office of Acram Group, a private equity firm based out of Greenwich, CT, where he was responsible for acquisition efforts in Texas and Colorado of all product types.
Britton initially started his career at Invesco Real Estate (“IRE”), a global real estate firm with over $90 billion in AUM, where he spent nine years. During his tenure at IRE, Britton closed on over $3 billion of assets in 10 different markets and underwrote an additional $19 billion in assets. While at IRE, Britton acquired assets on behalf of pension funds, separate accounts, and sovereign wealth funds, investing in all product types and risk profiles.
Education and Personal Life
Britton received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Texas A&M University in 2010 and obtained a Master’s degree in Commercial Real Estate from Texas A&M University in 2011. He currently lives in Amarillo, TX, with his wife Rachael, their two boys, Beckham (5) and Graham (1), and their Rhodesian Ridgeback, Mara (2). Britton is passionate about giving back and serves in a Chair position for Make-A-Wish North Texas, an organization WEC has committed to giving 3% of all fee revenue.

Principal
As Principal of WEC, Gary will be responsible for raising capital, investor relations, financing, and strategic initiatives.
Gary’s Banking Career and Legacy
Gary retired from a 38-year banking career in 2022. Most of that time was spent at Happy State Bank (“Happy”), where he served as Commercial Lender, Chief Lending Officer, President, and Goodwill/Cultural Ambassador. In 1991, when Gary joined Happy, the company was a $30 million institution with one branch in the Texas Panhandle. Primarily through organic growth, Happy grew to become a multi-billion-dollar, well respected institution with over 60 branches in many communities throughout Texas. Happy ultimately sold to Centennial Bank in 2022 when the bank had over $6 billion in assets.
Gary’s Early Banking Career and Diverse Lending Experience
Gary started his career at the First National Bank of Amarillo as a credit analyst in 1984 and was promoted into the lending department a few years later. In 1988, he joined Commercial State Bank (“Commercial”) in Andrews, TX, as a lender. After two years with Commercial, Gary was hired by Bank One in Dallas as a correspondent banker for the Texas Panhandle. His lending portfolio over the years has been quite diverse including real estate, oil and gas, cattle, airplanes, non-profits and various other commercial enterprises. In addition, Gary sat on numerous lending committees throughout his banking career.
Education, Leadership, and Personal Life
Gary received his bachelor’s degree from McMurry University in 1984 and was a 1991 graduate of the Southwest Graduate School of Banking at SMU. He served on several non-profit boards during his tenure as a commercial banker and was President of the Leadership Division of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas. He lives in Amarillo, TX, with his wife Dawn and their miniature dachshund, Annie.
