The Meaning Behind the Name – Wind’s Eye Capital
The Wells family has been rooted in West Texas since 1904, building a legacy in farming and cattle. Farming in the Panhandle is no easy feat. It demands resilience – enduring droughts, unpredictable weather, and the relentless West Texas wind. Here, the wind isn’t just an element, it’s part of everyday life. For some, it’s an opportunity, as seen in the wind farms across the region. For others, it’s a nuisance. But for all, it’s a shared experience that uniquely connects the people of West Texas.
Which brings us to the name, “Wind’s Eye Capital.” In 1968, the founder’s grandfather, Jimmy Wells, decided to establish a company to oversee the Wells family’s land and farming assets. Leading up to the formation of the company, the wind was particularly strong, and Jimmy insisted that he was “living in the eye of the wind.” Thus, Wind’s Eye Incorporated was formed.
Today, Wind’s Eye Capital carries forward that same resilience, foresight, and deep local roots. The name is more than history, it’s a reflection of our West Texas heritage and the strong connection we share with our investors.
